Black 101: If Black finishes ko with this move, then White will play as in Dia. 18. Black can live but White can play '14’ and be satisfied.

Compare up to 105 in Fig. 3 with Dia. 16 ; the Black group is caught by White, but Black could develop his center territory and still be superior to White.
